The Rehabilitation Department provides specialized care to help children and youth improve their movement, function, and independence.

Our team includes occupational therapists, physiotherapists, therapy assistants, practitioners, and administrative staff who work together to provide high-quality pediatric rehabilitation services.

Each year, we support more than 35,000 patients through inpatient and outpatient programs. We work closely with children, youth, and families to help them build skills, participate in everyday activities, and achieve their goals.

Our services

Our Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy teams provide inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services to support children’s recovery, function, mobility and participation in everyday activities.

Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapists (OTs) at SickKids help children participate in everyday activities that are important to them.

Physiotherapy

Physiotherapists at SickKids help children improve movement, mobility and physical function during recovery from illness, injury or surgery.

Student placements

The Rehabilitation Department is committed to supporting the education and clinical mentorship of Occupational Therapy (OT) and Physiotherapy (PT) students.

All OT and PT student placements, including international student requests, are arranged directly with the University of Toronto.
